Global Blood Resources manufactures the Hemobag®, a specialized blood salvage system designed for cardiac surgery. The Hemobag® is a single-use, disposable device that recovers and concentrates all autologous whole blood components—red cells, platelets, clotting factors, and plasma proteins—during cardiopulmonary bypass procedures. Unlike conventional cell salvage methods that discard critical components, the Hemobag® preserves the complete blood profile for rapid re-infusion back to the patient. This reduces the need for allogeneic blood transfusions, lowers post-operative bleeding risk, minimizes transfusion-related complications, and decreases overall transfusion costs. The system is designed for use by perfusionists, cardiac surgeons, and anesthesiologists in the operating room, requiring no additional equipment or extensive training. The standard order includes the Hemobag units paired with TS3 tubing sets.
