MezLight is a sterile, autoclavable surgical task light designed to replace traditional headlights in the operating room. Created by transplant surgeon Dr. Josh Mezrich, the MezLight features a flexible, adjustable arm that positions and maintains illumination exactly where needed without requiring neck strain or head movement. The device delivers LED brightness equivalent to headlights with 3 adjustable brightness settings and a larger spot size, while remaining compatible with face shields and surgical hoods. Unlike headlights, MezLight can be sterilized and controlled by the surgeon's own hands, eliminating the need to scrub out or request assistance. The ergonomic design addresses widespread surgical pain and cervical spine strain associated with traditional headlight use, allowing surgeons to maintain proper posture and take microbreaks without losing light positioning.
