Patient room equipment encompasses the durable, semi-fixed assets in a typical med-surg or acute-care room: hospital beds and support surfaces, overbed tables, bedside cabinets, patient/family recliners and sleepers, IV poles, patient lifts, and ancillary furniture. Health care systems are typically faced with aging fleets of equipment such as beds, patient monitors, infusion pumps and ventilators , so buyers — hospital procurement officers, biomedical/HTM engineers, ASC administrators, and long-term-care facility planners — generally purchase in bulk during new builds, unit refreshes, or end-of-service replacement cycles.
